ART 10/13 – 10/14: Pixel Art I
DESCRIPTION
We will discuss the following:
How to create pixel art in Google Sheets
TAKE NOTES during class discussions. You will submit notes for credit each week. If you are absent, you must watch the Zoom video to get the notes.
If you were absent to any of the meetings this week, go to Google Classroom, where the recorded meetings have been posted under Classwork>Recorded Zoom Meetings.

Demonstration on how to do the following in Google Sheets:
How to make simple shapes
How to add colors using conditional formatting
How to fill a row with color (Shift+R on Chromebooks or Ctrl+R on computer)
How to fill a column with color (Shift+D on Chromebooks or Ctrl+D on computer)
Practice making simple artwork in Google Sheets

HOMEWORK
Pixel Art Preparation and Practice due 10/14
Practice making simple pixel art. Go to Google Classroom and find the assignment called “pixel art practice”.
Find 2 images of items that you want to turn into pixel art. Your final pixel art will measure at least 32×32 pixels and contain at least 10 colors.
Create a Found Object Color Wheel (see examples above) Due Today
Use any camera to photograph your wheel—your phone or Chromebook camera
You must use a minimum of 10 colors (aim for all 12)
INCLUDE AN OBJECT WITH YOUR NAME IN THE CENTER.
You must use a minimum of 24 objects (that’s at least two per color)
Photograph your wheel in a bright area—perhaps build your wheel outdoors for good light
When ready to submit, place your color wheel on a Google Slide in the TURN IN FOLDER named “Color Wheel 1”. Name your file pd_last_first_wheel1
Color Emotions and Schemes Slideshow Due Today
In your color and emotion slideshow from last class, add the following slides and find artwork in Google Arts and Culture that includes these schemes. Include different artists and mediums
